At the end (1783) of the American Revolutionary War
Samuel Peters and his wife Mary left New York and went to live in what was then
Nova Scotia (soon to become New Brunswick), Canada. Mary died in N.B.
in 1787 aged about 75 years. Samuel died in N.B. in 1788 aged about 76 years.
The main purpose of this web site is to present the family histories of Samuel and
Mary Peters and their descendants (as currently known by this researcher), and to make
sure that the difference between what information is provable and what is still hearsay or
speculation is highlighted for others who wish to use this material.
There are many other Peters families in North America, some of whom have lived in
the same areas during the same times as Samuel and Mary Peters and their descendants.
In an effort to keep various Peters families sorted out, some information on
other families has been collected and is made
available through this site.
