Family of Samuel Leonard Peters and Phoebe Tilley

Samuel Leonard PETERS (son of William PETERS and Charlotte HAIN[E]S) was born abt 1796 in Queens County, New Brunswick. He died 10 March 1857 in Hampstead, Queens County, New Brunswick and was buried in Upper Hampstead Baptist Cemetery, Queens County, New Brunswick.

Samuel Leonard PETERS married Phoebe TILLEY 25 March 1820 in Sheffield, Sunbury County, New Brunswick.

Phoebe TILLEY (dau. of James TILLEY and Mary CHASE) was born abt 1804 probably in Sheffield, New Brunswick. She died 23 June 1870 probably in Hampstead, Queens County, New Brunswick and was buried in Upper Hampstead Baptist Cemetery, Queens County, New Brunswick.

Samuel Leonard PETERS and Phoebe TILLEY had the following children:

  1. William PETERS (1821 - 1911)
  2. James Tilley PETERS (1824 - 1867)
  3. Alexander Nevers PETERS (1827 - 1901)
  4. Mary Ann Betsey PETERS (1828 - 1902)
  5. Charlotte PETERS was born abt 1830 in New Brunswick. She died 25 July 1901 in Queenstown, Queens County, New Brunswick. She never married.
  6. Samuel Leonard PETERS (1837 - 1920)
  7. Phoebe Adeline PETERS (abt 1839 - 1909)
  8. Thomas Alfred PETERS (1842 - 1935)
  9. Lemuel W. PETERS was born abt 1847 in New Brunswick. He died 16 June 1865 in Hampstead, Queens County, New Brunswick and was buried in Upper Hampstead Cemetery.

Samuel Leonard Peters Sr. made a will dated 15 December 1856 in which he names his wife and children. Baptisms of some children in records of St. John's Anglican Church, Gagetown, Queens County, New Brunswick.
