Family of Margaret Ann Peters and Daniel Hanington

Margaret Ann PETERS (dau. of William PETERS and Charlotte HAIN[E]S) was born abt 1811 in Queens County, New Brunswick. She was baptised 19 July 1812 in Queens County, New Brunswick. She died 6 May 1887 and was buried in St. Martins in the Wood Cemetery, Shediac, New Brunswick.

Margaret Ann PETERS married Daniel HANINGTON 27 October 1831 in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Daniel HANINGTON (probably son of William HANINGTON and Mary DERBY) was born abt 1804 in New Brunswick. He died 5 May 1889 in Shediac and was buried in St. Martins in the Wood Cemetery, Shediac, New Brunswick. He was a farmer, Justice of the Peace, elected member of the New Brunswick parliament (1834 - 1861).

Margaret PETERS and Daniel HANINGTON had the following children:

  2. Georgiana Caroline HANINGTON was born 25 December 1833 in Shediac, Westmorland County, New Brunswick and died abt 26 March 1918. She never married.
  3. Daniel Lionel HANINGTON (1835 - abt 1909)
  4. Thomas Benjamin HANINGTON (1836 - abt 1920)
  5. Charlotte Mary A. HANINGTON (1838 - abt 1919)
  6. Julia Eliza Isabella HANINGTON (1840 - abt 1932)
  7. Edward Arthur Wellsley HANINGTON (1842 - abt 1917)
  8. Augustus Harvey HANINGTON (1844 - abt 1917)
  9. James Peters HANINGTON (1846 - abt 1927)
  10. Charles Francis HANINGTON (1848 - abt 1930)
  11. Ernest Barron Chandler HANINGTON (1851 - 1916)
  12. Medley Inglis HANINGTON was born 30 May 1852 in Shediac, Westmorland County, New Brunswick and died 2 June 1852 in Shediac, New Brunswick.
  13. Walter Leonard Carleton HANINGTON was born 26 July 1853 in Shediac, Westmorland County, New Brunswick and died 14 May 1896 in Victoria, British Columbia. He never married.

This family can be found in the 1851 and 1881 Shediac, Westmorland County, New Brunswick census. All the children's baptisms (with birth dates) can be found in the records of St. Martins in the Wood Church, Shediac, New Brunswick. Obituary of Medley Inglis in St. John Morning News 11 June 1852.
